U.S. THAAD Missile Defense System Intercepts Houthi Missile Attacking UAE for First Time

(Defense News) Jen Judson - The UAE used its U.S.-made Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System (THAAD) to intercept a Houthi-launched ballistic missile aimed at an oil facility near Al-Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi on Jan. 16, marking the system's first known use in a military operation.
