Polish Builders Uncover Jewish WWII Trove
(AP-Times of Israel) Hanukkah menorahs were among 400 items hidden in the ground by their Jewish owners during World War II that were discovered in December during home renovation work in Lodz, Poland. Some of the items were found wrapped in Polish, Yiddish, and German newspapers from October 1939. Gazecie Wyborczej, an archaeologist in Lodz, said the site used to be a synagogue.
