Israel Greenlights Creation of Anti-Riot National Guard
(Israel Hayom) The Israeli government authorized on Sunday the formation of a national guard. The previous government began setting up an auxiliary police force to tackle internal violence following riots in mixed Jewish-Arab areas during the Gaza war of May 2021. The cabinet appointed a multi-agency panel to recommend whom the national guard would be subordinate to.
