Iran Executions Surge as Government Cracks Down

(Wall Street Journal) Sune Engel Rasmussen - At least 142 people were executed in Iran in May, the highest monthly number since 2015, bringing the total to more than 300 in the first five months of this year, according to Oslo-based Iran Human Rights. Most executions in Iran are carried out in secret, usually by hanging.
