(X) Robert Satloff - The U.S. decision to publicly vow to hold up delivery of weapons to Israel at a critical moment in wartime cheers America's adversaries and frightens America's friends. This decision runs the risk of causing more civilian casualties and extending the Gaza fighting so long that it hurts Biden's reelection chances. It is not easy to come up with a lose-lose policy but I fear this is it. The Administration should be pursuing the exact opposite strategy - working closely with Israel to conclude main battle operations (i.e., Rafah) as quickly and efficiently as possible.
