U.S. Officials Don't See Clear Path to Ending War in Gaza as Ceasefire Talks Stall
(Politico) Erin Banco - Biden administration officials increasingly doubt that Israel and Hamas will reach a comprehensive ceasefire deal under the current framework proposed by President Biden, according to four U.S. officials. Hamas wants Israel to agree to a full withdrawal from Gaza. But Israeli officials have said they will not agree until its forces have fully dismantled Hamas. "I think this is going to go on until at least the end of 2024," one Biden official said. Top Biden administration officials are now publicly blaming Hamas for creating obstacles to peace.
