Was There Vast Collateral Damage when Israel Targeted Deif?
(X) Lenny Ben-David - The Wall Street Journal published satellite images showing an area in Gaza before and after an Israeli airstrike on July 13 which targeted Hamas's top commander Mohammed Deif. Note that none of the concrete/mortar buildings surrounding the site collapsed. This is because the bombs used were bunker busters that didn't explode until they were underground, to reach Deif if he was in underground tunnels or chambers. The writer, former Deputy Chief of Mission in Israel's Washington Embassy, is Director of the Institute for U.S.-Israel Relations at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs.
