U.S. Troops Attacked in Syria
(Reuters) Phil Stewart - Several U.S. and coalition personnel were wounded in a drone attack on Friday at the Rumalyn Landing Zone in northeastern Syria, a U.S. official told Reuters. Similar attacks in the past have been carried out by Iran-backed groups. The U.S. has 900 troops in Syria and 2,500 in Iraq, who are on a mission to advise and assist local forces to prevent a resurgence of Islamic State.
