The Impact of Radical Legal Ideology: From the Classroom to the International Forum
(Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs) Tirza Shorr - Radical ideologies inform academic legal activism against Israel and the West. Critical International Legal Theory (CILT) and Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL) are academic schools of thought that seek to radically transform the Western post-World War II international law traditions that guided the establishment of the United Nations. "Third Worldist" thought is popular in progressive circles, yet fails to provide tools to uplift the developing world. The "Third World" is an outdated, contestable Cold War-era relic that radicals weaponize to subvert the international community system and advance terrorist agendas.
