Israel, U.S. Set Two-Month Deadline for Hamas Disarmament
(Israel Hayom) Ariel Kahana - Israel and the U.S. will give Hamas a two-month window to disarm, Israel Hayom has learned, following a meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump in Florida on Monday. Professional teams from both countries are working to establish clear, mutually agreed criteria defining what would constitute the practical disarmament of Hamas. Both Israel and the U.S. agree that allowing Hamas to retain most of the weapons and military capabilities currently in its possession would be unacceptable. It was also agreed that Hamas's disarmament and the demilitarization of Gaza would include the destruction of its underground tunnel network. If Hamas does not disarm, responsibility for the next steps would revert to the Israel Defense Forces.
