Iran Transferred $1.7 Billion to Terror Proxies through Cryptocurrency in 2025

(New York Times) David Yaffe-Bellany - Internal investigators at the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, the world's largest venue for crypto trading, found that people in Iran had access to 1,500 accounts on their platform in 2025. $1.7 billion had flowed from two Binance accounts to Iranian entities with links to terrorist groups.
