Iran Says Strait of Hormuz Is Closed

(Reuters) Ebrahim Jabari, a senior adviser to the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, said Monday that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and Iran will fire on any ship trying to pass, Iranian media reported. Iran's move threatens to choke a fifth of global oil flows and send prices sharply higher.
