Trump Postpones Iran Strikes, Oil Prices Fall
(Wall Street Journal) Ed Ballard - President Trump said Monday he was postponing strikes on Iranian power plants for five days after what he described as productive talks with Iran. "I have instructed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period," Trump said in a social-media post. Trump had said Saturday that the U.S. would strike Iranian infrastructure within 48 hours unless Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz. Oil futures fell below $100 a barrel after Trump said he was postponing the strikes.
