War with Iran Delays Gaza Aid
(Ha'aretz) Hagai Amit - The Gaza Board of Peace (BoP) currently holds $500 million contributed by Gulf states, representing the first installment of $7 billion pledged for humanitarian aid and reconstruction. However, the war with Iran and the resulting disruption to traffic through the Strait of Hormuz have shut off the flow of funds. With Gulf oil revenues frozen, it's no longer possible to ask Gulf states for additional funding. "It's hard to call someone and say, 'Now send the billions you pledged,' while they're under Iranian attack," a source familiar with the Board of Peace's activities said.
