ICC Prosecutor behind Netanyahu Arrest Warrant Removed from Office
(CNN) Sophie Tanno - International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan was dismissed on Friday following allegations of sexual misconduct, as 82 of the court's 125 member states voted in favor of his removal. In May 2024, Khan sought arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel and the subsequent war in Gaza. Israel, which is not a member of the court, has rejected the warrants and welcomed Khan's removal, accusing him of conducting a witch hunt.
