Trump Says He Is Canceling Strikes on Iran, Pending a Rapid Deal
(New York Times) Francesca Regalado - President Trump said late Saturday that he had canceled threatened U.S. strikes on Iran, provided a deal could be reached rapidly that reopened the Strait of Hormuz and ended Iran's nuclear threat. Trump, writing on Truth Social, said Iran and other Middle Eastern countries had asked him to delay military action, claiming that the "perimeters of a deal" had been reached.
