Federal Probe Reveals How Hamas Coerces Gaza Aid Groups, Diverts American Aid Dollars
(Washington Free Beacon) Adam Kredo - Hamas officials routinely bullied and intimidated employees of U.S.-funded NGOs operating in Gaza in order to control their operations, according to a June 24 investigatory report by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Inspector General's office. The report provides definitive proof that Hamas is interfering in aid operations and threatening workers on the ground. In one case, Hamas Ministry of Interior personnel ordered a humanitarian group "to provide material support to some specific families that they had identified." Hamas officials warned that failure to comply with their order would result in the police shutting down the group's aid operation. The report says aid operations are subject to strict oversight by Hamas personnel who are often stationed at hospitals and aid depots.
