Israel and Venezuela Reestablish Ties after 17 Years

(Times of Israel) Lazar Berman - Israel and Venezuela announced on Tuesday that they had renewed consular relations, 17 years after diplomatic ties were severed in 2009 by then-president Hugo Chavez, a few days after the start of an IDF operation in Gaza. Ties have also warmed since Israel sent humanitarian assistance following the recent earthquake.
