Too Many Palestinians Would Rather Be Permanent Victims than Have Their Own State
(Telegraph-UK) David Harris - Too many Palestinian leaders have perpetuated a politics of victimhood, fostered dependence on international aid, promoted educational curricula and media messages that demonize Jews and glorify "martyrdom," and rejected repeated opportunities for meaningful compromise in pursuit of the fantasy of Israel's disappearance. That approach has led nowhere - and it never will. Israel is not going anywhere. It would be far wiser for responsible international leaders and bodies to stop decades of indulging, coddling, and subsidizing this dysfunctional behavior. Rather, they should raise the bar and insist on the emergence of Palestinian leaders committed to educating for compromise, preparing their people for coexistence, and choosing responsible nation-building over perpetual conflict.
