Iran's Chokehold on Hormuz Breaks Down
(Wall Street Journal) Georgi Kantchev - The U.S. Navy and Gulf oil producers have become better at fending off or evading Iranian attacks, allowing more tankers to cross the Strait of Hormuz as Iran's ability to choke off the oil flow is breaking down. Shipments via Hormuz and bypass routes were delivering almost 80% of their prewar regional flows, according to tracker Kpler. So far in September, crude exports moving through Hormuz and alternative routes have risen to almost 13 million barrels a day.
