Hizbullah Is Still Present inside Southern Lebanon Pilot Zones
(Jerusalem Post) Tzvi Jasper - Hizbullah operatives posing as civilians are present in several areas within the pilot zones in southern Lebanon, Israel's Channel 11 reported Wednesday. "The Lebanese state is not doing what it is supposed to do, if wherever Israel leaves, Hizbullah enters," a Lebanese source said. "This only shows how critical the issue of disarming Hizbullah is even before the Israeli withdrawal." Israeli officials have repeatedly stated that the pilot program, in which Israeli troops would withdraw in order to allow the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to take over operations against Hizbullah, had failed. Senior IDF officials assess that LAF chief Rodolphe Haykal continues to cooperate with Hizbullah and is ineffective in carrying out searches, locating terror infrastructure, and finding weapons.
